![]() We have been involved with Dobermans in many capacities for well over 20 years now. In that time, we have owned and bred some great dogs out of only 5 litters, including 3 Register of Merit Dobermans, 11 AKC Champions, 26 different working titles and even one that made it as a Police Service Dog. It has always been our goal to create a Doberman that not only looked beautiful but could work as well. A complete Doberman. This has been no easy task. The Dobes that do well in the show arena do not have the drive necessary to work. More importantly, we found the vast majority of today’s Doberman to be lacking in courage and a natural fight drive. The working Dobes almost always lack good conformation. How often do you see breeders advertising dogs with “working conformation”? There’s really no such thing. The breed standard was created with the ideal Doberman in mind and is one of the few breed standards that actually takes temperament into consideration. How sad that there is such a difference in temperament and conformation between the show dog and the working dog. It makes sense that a dog which was created to work should have correct conformation in order to work well and without injury. It is just as necessary to have the correct attitude and drive.
Therefore, in 2002, we looked to Europe for Dobermans which might have everything we desired in a dog and we found it. The European dogs are more of a what a real Dobermann should be and we have found them to be less inflicted with the health issues that plague today’s American lines. Healthy, strong, and beautiful dogs.
We have since imported 3 dogs from Hungary, all with bloodlines from the great Italian sires of today. Our new stronger foundation is based upon the great, “Gino Gomez del Citone”. Gino was World Sieger in the show arena and a Schutzhund III as well as a ZTP to prove himself. Gino has it all, looks and working ability that he has proven to pass down to his children. Look at the dogs winning in Europe today and you will find that Gino is the sire or grandsire of the greater percentage of them. With our new foundation bitches of 100% European breeding, we have found everything we wanted in a TRUE Dobermann, and we hope you will too. Notice the solid, strong conformation of these dogs tempered with the natural elegance and athletic ability of the breed, the dark beautiful color and markings, and just watch them work!
